Over 870,000 struggling NJ residents

Over 870,000 struggling NJ residents (10% of the population) will see a reduction in SNAP (food stamps) benefits as of today with the end of a provision in the federal stimulus package (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act/ARRA).

This includes 364,000 children,  15,900 Veterans and at least 195,000 people who are elderly or disabled.

NJ will also lose out on $90 million in federal dollars as a result of the cuts.
